On the day that you were born
our hearts were filled with pride
even then your courage and beauty
shone from deep inside
you never had life easy
one illness after another
we could see it took its toll
on your sister and brother
when you were just six years old
the doctors gave us the news
our beautiful little daughter
we were going to lose
then the treatment they started
made you ill and really sick
but your fighting spirit
was something it could not lick
you lost all your long blond hair
your skin was sore and black
no matter what they did to you
your courage it could not crack
still a smile upon your face
such a lot for you to do
you had to pack in everything
before your life was through
time it passed so quickly
in oh so many ways
we did every thing together
filled all the nights and days
you put more in to a short life
than some people ever will
your memory lives on in our hearts
a place no one can ever fill
